About this lamp
This is a compatible replacement lamp module for the BenQ MS507, replacing BenQ part 5J.J9R05.001. The same lamp also fits the other projectors listed below. It's a complete unit – the bulb is already fitted in a new housing – so there's no handling the bare bulb and no rewiring. Every lamp is tested before it leaves our UK warehouse.
Compatible or Original Inside?
This is our compatible version: a quality third-party bulb in a new housing, built to match the original brightness and lamp-life specification at a much lower price, with a 120-day warranty. If you'd rather have a genuine original bulb, we also sell an Original Inside version for the BenQ MS507 – a genuine original bulb in a new housing – which comes with a 180-day warranty.
When to replace the lamp
Most projectors warn you when the lamp is near the end of its life: a lamp replacement message appears when you switch on, and the lamp indicator may light or flash. Before that, most people notice the picture getting dimmer or colours looking washed out. If the projector won't light at all, the lamp has usually failed.
How to fit it
Switch the projector off, unplug it and let it cool for at least 45 minutes. Remove the lamp cover, loosen the screws holding the old lamp and lift it out by the handle. Push the new lamp firmly into place, tighten the screws and refit the cover securely – most projectors won't power on if the lamp cover isn't closed properly. Finally, reset the lamp timer from the projector's menu so it stops showing the replacement warning (your user manual shows the exact steps for your model).

How do I know this is the right lamp? Check the model name on your projector, or the part number on the old lamp – if it shows 5J.J9R05.001, or any of the part numbers listed above, this lamp fits. If you're still not sure, contact our sales team and we'll confirm the right lamp for you.

What if there's a problem? This compatible lamp has a 120-day no-quibble warranty: if there's a problem in that time, we'll replace it.

- Original – Manufacturers genuine lamp. This means the whole unit, including the bulb and the housing are original, supplied by the manufacturer, such as Epson.
- VIVID – Original Inside. This means all VIVID lamps are fitted with a genuine bulb in a compatible housing.
- Compatible – This means a compatible bulb (3rd party) inside a compatible housing (3rd party).
